Steven Miller, Esq. is the founding member and Senior Partner of Miller, Montiel & Strano, P.C. Mr. Miller’s extensive career as a trial attorney spans four decades. Mr. Miller continues to try cases for the catastrophically injured victims of medical malpractice, products liability, and accidents caused by the negligence of others. Mr. Miller is committed to achieving the maximum results for his clients and has obtained numerous seven-figure verdicts and settlements.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Mr. Miller at a young age found his calling in law to redress the wrongs of those in need. He earned his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens graduating Cum Luade and Dean's List, and continues his association with the School of Law by lecturing other professionals in the art of conducting trials. In addition to lecturing at St. John’s, Mr. Miller has lectured continuing legal education courses for the Queens County Bar Association. Mr. Miller is a member of the New York Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, the Nassau and Queens County Bar Associations and the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Miller also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queens College. Mr. Miller is also proud to have provided pro bono services to family members of the victims of the 9-11 tragedy through Trial Lawyers Care. In addition, Mr. Miller provided pro-bono service in establishing a memorial fund for the widows and children of the deceased firefighters lost in the attack from NYFD Engine 54, Ladder 4. Mr. Miller resides in Nassau County with his wife and two children.
David M. Strano, Esq. began his practice of law at the Law Offices of Steven Miller in 1993 where he has remained since. In 2001 he became a partner in the firm and the firm was renamed Miller, Montiel & Strano, P.C. Mr. Strano has concentrated his fourteen years of legal experience in handling all aspects of the litigation of a civil matter from the client’s first call, through trial to verdict and appeal if necessary. Mr. Strano believes that every client deserves to be zealously represented and kept well apprised of his or her case status.
Mr. Strano, obtained his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1993 where he graduated Cum Laude and Dean’s List. In Law School, Mr. Strano’s advocacy skills were recognized when he was a member of a three person team that placed first in a National Moot Court competition. Mr. Strano was also a senior board member of the Moot Court Program and was a staff member on the New York International Law Review. Before entering Law School, Mr. Strano earned his undergraduate degree in Architectural Science, and went to work as an estimator/purchaser for a leading commercial plumbing contractor.
Mr. Strano is a member of both the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Catherine M. Montiel, Esq. joined the firm in February of 1994, having previously worked at a prominent plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Manhattan. She became a partner in 2001 and the firm was thereafter renamed Miller, Montiel & Strano, P.C. Ms. Montiel is a 1992 graduate of St. John’s Law School where she earned her J.D. and is a 1989 Cum Laude graduate of Adelphi University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
Ms. Montiel prides herself on being intimately familiar with each and every one of her cases and maintains close contact with her clients. Ms. Montiel's attention to detail and thorough preparation has been instrumental in uncovering key facts forming the basis of several seven figure awards achieved by the firm. In addition, as Managing Partner, Ms. Montiel has an active role in maintaining the business operations of the office and case management.
Ms. Montiel is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York - Suffolk County Chapter.Ms. Montiel is proud to have provided pro-bono services to family members of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy through Trial Lawyers Care. She resides in Suffolk County with her husband and her two children.
