Brooklyn, NY – Pedestrian Accident Involving Train Near Winthrop St Station

Brooklyn, NY (October 29, 2020) – Around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening, October 28, a pedestrian accident involving a train took place in Brooklyn.

Police were initially called to the scene at the Winthrop Street Station in the area of Winthrop Street and Nostrand Avenue. The pedestrian was struck by a train traveling through the area that was headed northbound.

The pedestrian, who was identified only as an adult male, was removed from underneath the train and was treated by emergency services before he was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is believed that he sustained serious injuries.

The northbound tracks for the 2-line and 5-line trains were closed down for a period of time until the scene was cleared.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
