Coram, NY (January 20, 2021) – At 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday evening, January 19, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Coram.
According to officials, the accident took place at 100 Middle Country Road. A male pedestrian was walking across the street when he was suddenly struck by a 68-year-old Ridge man in a Ford van. The driver remained at the scene of the collision.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. The pedestrian was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of their injuries. They have been listed in critical condition.
The driver of the van was not injured but has been cooperating with the police.
Police blocked off a portion of the road to clear the scene.
