Staten Island, NY – Officer Injured in Car Crash at Hylan Blvd Intersection

Staten Island, NY (January 18, 2021) – Around midnight on Sunday morning, January 17, an officer was injured in a car crash in Staten Island.

According to authorities, the accident took place at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and New Dorp Lane when two or more vehicles collided with one another. Police have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances of the collision but said that a police cruiser sustained damages.

Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene of the collision to help those with injuries. The injured officer was immediately taken to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.

The intersection was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
