Staten Island, NY (April 16, 2021) – Around 10:12 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 15, one person was injured in a house fire in Staten Island.
According to officials, the fire broke out in the early morning hours of Thursday in a two-story home at 283 Loretto Street. The fire engulfed a large portion of the home and it took until approximately 10:54 a.m. to get the fire under control.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. A firefighter who was present at the scene received a minor injury as a result of the fire. He was taken to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment.
The area was blocked for a period of time in the area.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
