Brooklyn, NY – Critical Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash on Ave D

Brooklyn, NY (June 24, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, June 23, a critical pedestrian hit-and-run crash occurred on a roadway in Brooklyn.

According to police, the accident happened on Avenue D around the area of East 38th Street. A 57-year-old man was out of his vehicle in the area and removing items from the car. Suddenly, he was struck by a black sedan traveling in the area. The vehicle immediately fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital and has since been listed in critical condition.

Police did not find the responsible party but found a piece of wreckage left at the scene. They believe that the responsible vehicle is a Mercedes Benz.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
