Bronx, NY (July 5, 2021) – At 2 a.m. on the morning of Monday, July 5, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in the Bronx.
According to police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-87 around the area of Van Cortlandt Park. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in two right lanes for a period of time, which led to delays until police cleared the scene.
