Bronx, NY (July 13, 2021) – At 11 p.m. on Monday night, July 12, a pedestrian crash involving a homeless shelter took place in the Bronx.
According to police, the accident happened at a Ramada hotel at the intersection of East 151st Street and Gerard Avenue. The hotel was being used as a homeless shelter for the time being. A 26-year-old woman who had been staying at the hotel allegedly got into a dispute with management and left. She got inside her blue sedan and slammed into the lobby of the hotel, fleeing the scene on foot.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help. Three people at the scene, who have not yet been identified, were injured in the accident. They were taken to local hospitals but are expected to recover.
No major structural damage resulted from the building accident, thankfully. It is believed that the woman was caught by police.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
