Brooklyn, NY (July 8, 2021) – At 11 p.m. on Wednesday night, July 7, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Brooklyn.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Rockaway Parkway and Lenox Road. The driver of a BMW was traveling in the area when the driver suddenly collided with a pedestrian crossing the road at the intersection. The driver continued onward without stopping to check on the pedestrian.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The 54-year-old male pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital with traumatic injuries but he was pronounced dead while there.
The driver of the vehicle has not yet been found.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
