Manhattan, NY – Borkot Ullah Killed in Bicycle Accident on Houston St

Manhattan, NY (July 10, 2021) – At 11 p.m. on Thursday night, July 8, a man was killed in a fatal bicycle accident near an intersection in Manhattan.

According to police, the collision happened on Houston Street around the area of Attorney Street. At the time, a bicyclist was on his e-bike attempting to cross East Houston Street when he was suddenly struck by a Subaru Outback. The driver of the Subaru immediately fled the scene following the crash.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The rider of the bicycle, identified as 24-year-old Borkot Ullah, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The roadway was blocked in the area until police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
