Staten Island, NY (July 14, 2021) – At 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening, July 13, a motorcycle accident with injuries occurred on Staten Island.

According to local police, the accident took place on Manor Road around the area of the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds. A black Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling in the area when it collided with a yellow motorcycle due to reasons that are not yet known. The motorcycle was traveling on Manor Road when the Dodge allegedly left the campground, crashing into the rider.

Due to the severity of the crash, the motorcycle became lodged under the back of the pickup truck. This caused the motorcycle to sustain significant damages and left debris all over the roadway in the area. The driver of the motorcycle had to be extricated from the back of the pickup truck.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene to help. The male motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.

The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
