Brooklyn, NY – Car Crash in WB Lanes of I-278 Near Hamilton Ave

Brooklyn, NY (June 15, 2021) – At 9:50 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, June 15, a car crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Brooklyn.

According to Brooklyn officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-278 around the area of Hamilton Avenue and the Battery Tunnel. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control due to unknown reasons. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.

One left lane of traffic was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
