Brooklyn, NY (March 11, 2021) – Around 11:23 p.m. on Wednesday night, March 10, a fatal truck crash took place on a highway in Brooklyn.
According to local officials, the accident took place on the Gowanus Expressway around the area of 92nd Street. The crash took place when a sedan slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer when the driver lost control.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The female passenger inside the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, identified as a 30-year-old male, was hospitalized and then placed in police custody with a variety of charges.
The roadway was blocked in numerous lanes of traffic as police cleared the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
