Brooklyn, NY (May 20, 2021) – At 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday night, May 19, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Brooklyn.
According to officials, the accident happened on East 80th Street near the area of Avenue N. A 74-year-old woman was crossing the street in the area when she was struck by a white van traveling through the area. The driver of the van fled the scene without stopping.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help. The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital with traumatic injuries but she was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
