Long Island, NY – Critical Injuries Reported in House Fire on Marshall St

Long Island, NY (October 3, 2021) – At 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, October 2, a house fire occurred in a home on Long Island.

According to Long Island officials, the fire broke out in a home on Marshall Street. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found that the home was fully engulfed in flames. Several people needed to be rescued from the home from various floors. The massive blaze caused severe damage to the inside of the home.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. A 14-year-old and an 82-year-old were critically injured and had to be hospitalized. An older teen boy and a 75-year-old woman were also seriously injured but are expected to recover. Two policemen and two firemen also sustained smoke inhalation and burn injuries but are okay.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
