Manhattan, NY – Train Accident Involving Pedestrian Near 59th St

Manhattan, NY (February 4, 2021) – Around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday night, February 3, a train accident involving a pedestrian took place in Manhattan.

According to officials, the accident happened on 59th Street at the Columbus Circle Station. A train was headed northbound at the time when it suddenly struck an adult male walking in the area.

Paramedics and fire crews arrived at the scene. While there, crews had to cut power to the tracks so that the man could be extricated from the area. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment of severe injuries, though his current condition is not yet known.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
