Melville, NY – Car Accident Leads to Injuries on Walt Whitman Rd

Melville, NY (June 30, 2021) – At 7:45 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, June 30, a car accident with injuries occurred in Melville.

According to officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of Walt Whitman Road between the area of South Service Road and Canton Park. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the collision were extensively damaged.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.

Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
