Monticello, NY (July 19, 2021) – On Friday morning, July 16, a child was injured in a car accident at an intersection in Monticello.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of NY-42 and Anawana Lake Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other after entering the intersection. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A total of four people were injured in the accident and taken to local hospitals. One of the victims was identified as a child who was seriously injured and airlifted to a local hospital.
The intersection was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
