Queens, NY (December 8, 2020) – Around 8:45 p.m. on Monday night, December 8, a teen was killed in a fatal collision on a Queens highway.
According to police, the accident took place in the westbound lanes of Belt Parkway around the area of North Conduit Avenue. The 18-year-old operator of the vehicle realized that she got off at the wrong exit and went through a grassy median. When she tried to get back on the roadway, her vehicle forcefully overturned.
An 18-year-old passenger, identified as Datanja Britt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital for treatment of her injuries but was pronounced dead while there.
The driver, a 15-year-old passenger, and a 16-year-old passenger were all hospitalized and are expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation continues.
