Staten Island, NY – Firefighters Injured in House Fire on Pond Way

Staten Island, NY (March 2, 2021) – Around 7:20 p.m. on Monday night, March 1, a house fire led to serious injuries in Staten Island.

FDNY crews responded to the scene of the fire that took place at a residential home located at 119 Pond Way. The severe fire broke out and engulfed a large portion of the home on fire. Multiple emergency vehicles lined the street and dozens of firefighters responded.

Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene. Four firefighters were injured and taken to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment of injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.

When fire crews had the fire under control, the second story and roof of the home were left with severe damages. The fire was completely under control around 7:55 p.m.

Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
