Staten Island, NY – Serious Pedestrian Crash at Post Ave & Jewett Ave

Staten Island, NY (March 22, 2021) – Around 5:40 a.m. on Monday morning, March 22, a serious pedestrian crash occurred near an intersection in Staten Island.

According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Post Avenue and Jewett Avenue. A 78-year-old man was crossing the street in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The vehicle remained at the scene of the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital with a left leg injury. He is expected to recover.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
