Staten Island, NY – Six Injured in Apartment Fire on Narrows Rd

Staten Island, NY (April 7, 2021) – At 6:55 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, April 7, a serious apartment fire injured several people on Staten Island.

According to officials, the fire broke out in an apartment home at 81 Narrows Road near the area of Fingerboard Road. The four-story apartment complex was completely engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at the scene.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One firefighter received severe injuries while getting the fire under control and was transported to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment. Three other firefighters were injured and treated as well. A total of six people received injuries in the fire.

It took approximately 60 firefighters from 12 units to get the fire under control by 7:53 a.m.

The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
