West Hempstead, NY (October 21, 2021) – On Thursday morning, October 21, a fatal crash occurred on a roadway in West Hempstead.
According to police, the accident happened on Westminster Road near the Fairlawn Avenue area. An 18-year-old female was operating her BMW X3 headed north on the roadway when she struck a parked vehicle in the area. The BW was severely damaged and left debris scattered all over the roadway.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. A 19-year-old male passenger and a 17-year-old female passenger in the BMW were pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The teen driver was rushed to the hospital and has been listed in stable condition.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
