Lindenhurst, NY (December 16, 2020) – Around 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a serious truck accident occurred at a Lindenhurst intersection.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of Straight Path and Route 109 when a Toyota Corolla was headed southbound. The vehicle entered the intersection at the same time as an International delivery truck.
The driver of the Corolla, identified as 37-year-old Jose Cortez-Vargas, was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. The truck driver, identified as a 26-year-old man, was not injured and remained at the scene of the crash.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time.
