Queens, NY (February 16, 2021) – Around 2 p.m. on Monday, February 15, a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Queens. more According to officials, the accident took place at a car wash located at the corner of Cross Bay Boulevard and Gold Street. An employee identified as 43-year-old Edwin Vargas was leaving the car wash bay when he struck a female customer in the parking lot with his vehicle. Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash. The pedestrian, identified as a 54-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Queens, NY (February 15, 2021) – Around 1:15 a.m. on Monday, February 15, an adult and child were killed in a house fire in Queens. more According to authorities, the incident took place at a two-story home on 157 th Street around the area of 45 th and 46 th Avenues. It is not known why the fire started but it allegedly ripped through the home very quickly. Sixty firefighters from 12 units were called to the scene and got the fire under control within an hour. When fire crews were able to get inside the home, they found a 6-year-old child and 65-year-old Stephen Blumling unresponsive. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the child’s twin brother was taken to the hospital for treatment at the burn center. Two others were injured but have not yet been identified.
