Queens, NY (April 21, 2021) – Around 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, April 21, a man was killed in a fatal crash at a Queens intersection. more According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of 111 th Street and Atlantic Avenue. A man was driving a Honda Accord and traveling east when his vehicle and a Ford F-150 collided with each other. After the collision, the Honda continued onward and struck a parked Mercedes Benz. Police confirmed that the driver of the Honda got out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. They did not say if any arrests have since been made. Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. A 23-year-old man inside the Honda was rushed to the hospital unresponsive but was pronounced dead while there. Several other victims from inside the Honda and the Mercedes were rushed to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Calverton, NY (April 04, 2021) - A man was killed during a two-car accident in Calverton on Thursday, April 1st. The collision took place at about 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of New York State Route 25 and Burman Boulevard at the entrance to Enterprise Park in Calverton. The deceased, who has since been identified as 61-year-old Leonor Parra-Nunez, a resident of Coram, was traveling northbound on Burman Boulevard in a 1997 Nissan Maxima when, in spite of having a red light, he entered the intersection, where he was hit by an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV on SR-25 driven by 33-year-old Rolando Ajcuc-Chamale, a resident of Calverton. Police located two heavily damaged vehicles, one in a nearby wooded area and one in the intersection. Parra-Nunez was extricated from his Nissan by members of the Wading River Fire Department and transported by Riverhead Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center with serious injuries. He died a short while later. Ajcuc-Chamale was also transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Ridge Fire Department with non-critical injuries. Staten Island, NY (March 28, 2021) – Around 3:08 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, March 27, a serious townhouse fire took place on Staten Island. more According to FDNY responders, the incident took place at a townhouse on 20 Charleston Avenue. A call came in about the townhome being on fire and when officials arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. Approximately 12 units and 60 firefighters were present at the scene. They had the fire under control within the hour. Paramedics were present at the scene to help one injured victim. One person was transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The Bronx, NY (February 14, 2021) - A man died on Saturday, February 13th when the speeding car he was riding in crashed into the back of a stopped bus in the Bronx. Reports show that the accident took place at about 11:15 p.m. on Bartow Avenue when a silver Nissan Maxima, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, slammed into the back of a Metro Transit Authority bus as it sat at a bus stop. The bus driver and two bus passengers all sustained injuries classified as non-life-threatening. The 20-year-old driver of the Nissan and his unidentified male passenger were both transported via ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center. The passenger was pronounced dead and the driver was in critical condition. As of Sunday morning, neither man had been identified.
